TOEFL Preparation

CAMPUS Education is the emerging leader in the newest and best techniques to prepare for the TOEFL iBT. Courses are designed and taught by the CAMPUS TOEFL Team, a group of experienced, dedicated instructors who work together to ensure students’ success. Cathy Degand Baptiste, Levels 4 & 5 Teacher

A native of Haiti, Cathy has lived in the United States since she was nine years old. She has an associate degree in paralegal studies, a B.A. in Political Science and Journalism and is currently completing her master’s degree in education. She also taught ESL at the Haitian-American Institute in Port-au-Prince. Cathy has a passion for teaching. She makes it her business to ensure that the classroom environment is peaceful so that students can exchange ideas freely and focus on what they want to learn.

Alexander Nikodem, Level 2 Teacher

A self-motivated and responsible instructor with a multidisciplinary background, Alex uses a communicative approach in his classes that strongly emphasizes speaking and understanding everyday English while also helping students develop their grammatical skills. He is currently completing his M.A. in speech language pathology. In addition, he received graduate TESOL certification in Korea where he spent over three years teaching English. He credits his experiences there with helping him develop a strong sense of cultural awareness and sensitivity, which he imparts to his students.

Artur Ujazdowski, TOEFL Preparation Teacher

Artur is an energetic and enthusiastic teacher whose 30 years of experience in the classroom is highly valued by students and colleagues alike. A native of Poland, he holds an undergraduate degree in literature and a master’s degree in cultural anthropology and film criticism. Artur credits his students’ high rate of success on the TOEFL exam on his ability to focus on each student’s specific needs. In addition, his attention to detail and his ability to apply different teaching methods to suit students’ learning styles have made him a popular and respected teacher.

I have been teaching English for more than thirteen years. It has been a rewarding experience for me as I meet new faces almost on an everyday basis. Most importantly, I feel a sense of pride when the students show their gratitude in return for my instructing them on all points of the English Language. I sincerely hope to continue doing this.
