General English Language Program Basics

CAMPUS Education was started in 1999 as a technical and English language school and has since expanded to offer additional courses in Business English, Academic Preparation, and Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Preparation. Our General English language program is still at the core of our foundation and aims to provide accessible and effective training to students from around the world.

The General English language courses are offered at five different levels of proficiency, from False Beginner to Advanced. The content of each course is customized to the level of the students and is designed to be interactive and innovative. The skills learned in this program include:

  • Communication and interactive listening
  • Pronunciation and speaking
  • Reading and writing
  • Grammar and sentence structure
  • Vocabulary building and usage

This language program combines intensive classroom instruction with small class sizes to promote comfort, confidence, and communication within our student body. Our creative and engaging methods, such as role-play, media immersion, and field trips, help students learn in fresh ways that make an impact. ESL classes provide a place like no other to practice speaking skills with other students who are also learning and to get feedback and guidance from compassionate instructors.

This program runs 20 hours per week and is offered at our campuses in Midtown, Downtown Manhattan, Manhattan/Penn Station, Times Square, and Flushing, NY, as well as Jersey City and Palisades Park, NJ.
