Our Courses in New York and New Jersey

Group Of Business People Applauding A PresentationGeneral English Program

General English at CAMPUS Education is our flagship program, offering comprehensive instruction in reading, writing, listening, and speaking in English. We offer General English courses at five different levels of proficiency so that we can tailor course content and delivery to students’ abilities.

All courses are designed to be interactive, with a focus on communication and pronunciation, as well as vocabulary and grammar. CAMPUS Education maintains small class sizes where students build their confidence and receive individualized support. General English classes meet 20 hours per week for 16 weeks.

Academic Preparation Program

Designed for students with upper-level proficiency in the English language, CAMPUS Education’s Academic Preparation (Upper Intermediate) course runs 20 hours per week for 16 weeks, and our Academic Preparation (Advanced) course runs 20 hours per week for 24 weeks. These classes are best suited for speakers who have been in the U.S. for several years and want to hone their skills to prepare for college-level courses taught in English.

In addition to high-level training in academic English, students will gain practice with taking notes, giving presentations, participating in class discussions, and taking exams. Small classes give students plenty of opportunities for one-on-one interactions and insights into American culture.

Business World Program

In addition to preparing for college-level courses, many students at CAMPUS Education plan to intern or work in an English-speaking country. That’s where our Business World program comes in: a five-level course series dedicated to helping adult learners succeed in English-speaking professional settings.

CAMPUS Education’s Business World classes are modeled off our General English program and focus on building speaking and writing fluency for clear communication. Lessons are customized to each student’s individual needs to ensure he/she receives the instructional support needed to excel in the world of business. We offer five 12-week courses within the program at all CAMPUS Education locations.

TOEFL Preparation (Advanced) Program

The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is a standardized assessment of English Language capability. Most colleges and universities throughout the U.S. require international students to complete the TOEFL, as well as many higher learning institutions in other countries.

CAMPUS Education’s TOEFL course meets for 20 hours each week to prepare students to succeed in English-speaking academic settings. Created by the CAMPUS Education TOEFL team, our program helps students build advanced proficiency in oral and written English skills. Participants will gain experience responding to written prompts, composing essay responses, and delivering oral presentations.

Students will also have the opportunity to complete practice exams, and instructors will cover test-taking tips and strategies. The TOEFL course is recommended for individuals who plan to apply to an English-speaking college or university.
